Issue description
Dear Original War Development Team,

I am encountering a serious issue with the game on macOS when running it through Wine (version 10). The problem is related to audio, as the sound stutters significantly, making the gameplay unplayable. However, when I disable the audio driver by using winetricks sound=disabled, the game runs smoothly without any stuttering, but naturally, this comes at the cost of having no sound during gameplay.

Here are the details:
  • Game Version: 3.0.13.343
  • macOS Version: Sequoia 15.3.1
  • Processor: M4 Pro
  • Wine Version: 10

  • Could you please look into this issue? I believe it might be related to Wine’s handling of audio on macOS, and I would be happy to provide further information, including error logs, to help troubleshoot the problem.

Please find the error logs attached below: [https://pastebin.com/WPDxP2hH https://pastebin.com/WPDxP2hH]

Thank you for your time and support!
Steps to reproduce this issue
  1. Install Wine 10 on macOS 15.3.1 (Sequoia).
  2. Set up Wine with the default CoreAudio sound driver.
  3. Launch the game (version 3.0.13.343).
  4. Go to the mission and wait for the dialogues (the videos work fine).
  5. Observe the audio issues (intermittent sound).

Does renaming or deleting OpenAL32.dll make any difference?
